netcdf on the Cray, once more...

Hello,

Like others I am also being affected by the inefficiency of netcdf
on the CRAY C90. I have large data sets on the C90 which I'd like to
make publicly available in NetCDF. The CPU requirements of the
standard netcdf library is just too much to make the project worth it.
(My conversion program takes about twice the time on the C90 compared
to a HP workstation.)

Has anybody found a quick solution? How can I take advantage of
SDS from NetCDF? (Note: I am not a "fluent" C programmer).

I like to resubmit a question I posted a couple of months ago:

Can anybody comment on the performance of NetCDF compared to HDF on
the Cray C90?

Any help greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

    Arlindo.
