Have people considered data compression in netCDF? I would like to
see an ability to specify compression with some type of algorithm for
various arrays in a netcdf file. This would include lossy as well as
lossless compression. I know this may cause a problem with the
hypercube access, but, at least in some cases, one should be able to
work around this.
