Problem with ncclose

Hi-

        A program of ours that uses netcdf crashes and gives the following
error message after a call to ncclose:


signal SEGV (no mapping at the fault address) in NC_free_string at 0xf77a52ac
NC_free_string+0x10:    ld      [%i0 + 4], %o0


Any ideas what this means?  Reading the file works fine, but closing it causes
a core dump.  We are running version 1.17 on a Sparc 2GS under SunOs 4.1.1.
