[ldm-users] 20090706: Unidata-Wisconsin datastream generation machine is down

Users of the Unidata-Wisconsin datastream satellite imagery:

The machine on which the Unidata-Wisconsin (IDD feedtype UNIWISC aka
MCIDAS) GOES image sectors and CIMSS image products injected into the
IDD experienced a hardware problem yesterday, Sunday, July 5.

After running fsck (a 5-6 hour process), the machine was being returned
to service early this morning when it crashed again. A service ticket
that was opened last week for the machine's RAID was renewed again this
morning. ETA for the machine's return to service remains unclear, but
it will likely be several to many hours.

We apologize for the interruption in service that the hardware problems
are causing...

Cheers,

Tom Yoksas
