RE: OGC Asynchronous responses

Peter & Ethan,

Everyone at the OGC has or has had interest in asynchronous responses.
As you likely know asynchronous processes can be done via polling or
notification - one can be easily converted to the other with the help of
an intermediary. So far there is no consensus on the best approach.
The WPS uses polling, there WNS is notification, and I think the
catalogue uses a call back URL (notification). The WCS at the moment
doesn't support asynchronous responses.

OWS-6 is supposed to look at asynchronous responses so the WCS can hold
off on that.

Cheers

Steven,

in GALEON a question has come up on a field where you are more busy
currently than me. Can you help me answering?

TIA,
Peter
