Re: GSN and GALEON AGU ESSI Focus Group Topics

Hi Ben,

In keeping with our discussions in Baltimore, I reconfirm our full support to an ESSI interoperability and demo session for the next AGU Fall meeting.

I do think that the GALEON interoperability framework could play an important role in this demo, demonstrating the feasibility to discover, evaluate and use complex multi-dimensional Fluid Earth Sciences datasets in a seamless and transparent way.

Hi,

The GSN demos were the topic of many discussions at the recent AGU Spring Joint Session in Baltimore. It seems that the OGC GSN initiatives and the related GALEON efforts would be great topics for an ESSI (Earth and Space Science Informatics) Focus Group session at the Fall AGU meeting in San Francisco December 11 - 15 as well.

This sort of cross-disciplinary, integrative data and modeling system work is very much in line with the objectives of the ESSI Focus Group.

The deadline for proposing sessions for the AGU Fall meeting is approaching soon: June 8.
