Chiz,

do you know why i'm not receiving the 3-90 forecast for NDFD? here' my pqact
entry:

NPORT ^[LM].U... KWBN ([0-3][0-9])([0-2][0-9])([0-6][0-9])
        FILE
data/pub/native/grid/NCEP/NDFD/CONUS_5km/NDFD_CONUS_5km_(\1:yyyy)(\1:mm)\1_\200.grib2

The NOAAPORT data only provides NDFD for F090-F180. This comprises days 4
through 7 as noted in the initial admin notice:
http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/support/help/MailArchives/nws-changes-list/msg02641.html

since the 2nd, 4-5 chars in the pattern are dots, i thought i should receive. i
get the 90-180 hours.

also do you why the large range of file sizes for same model run hour 12? it's
18-28 megs.

Parts of the data are rebroadcast later in the day as needed. You can update
the grid received each time. For example the maximum temperature grids over the
past three days:

Subject: Re: question about motherload download

Hi Jennifer and Jack,

I don' t know much about how we bring in the NDFD data or how it should be
structured. I'll forward this to the THREDDS group who maintain the motherlode
server.

Hi Ben,
Jack Settelmaier had some questions about motherload's netCDFserver. He was
asking where the forecast for hours 3- 90 were for the NDFD conus_5km there are
only forecasts for 90 - 180.

Also why the file sizes were all different for the different grib files. For
example : NDF_Conus_5km_20060822_1200.grib2 was 8.963
NDF_Conus_5km_20060821_1200.grib2 was 28.11 could there be a download issue on
your receiving end?

Jack if I have misunderstood your questions please let Ben know.
 Thanks Jennifer
