Will we be seeing a 16.1.4 OS X client soon?

I'll certainly be upgrading my server for Windows users who wish to use 16.1.4
but I'd also hope us OS X users are able to take advantage of the new version
soon enough, despite still being able to use 15.1.3 on a 16.1.4 server.

Thanks for all you do, Michael.

This happens if you're connecting a 16.1 client to a 15.1 server.

I will be updating the linux repo to 16.1.4 today so you can then update your
server then.

Any issues involving the map? I can't seem to get a background map on any

32 and 64-bit Windows CAVE clients (16.1.4) are available at

http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/awips2/
and
http://unidata.github.io/awips2/docs/install/install-cave.html

The 32-bit version **does not include** the NSHARP or GEMPAK libraries (which
means no skew-t/log-p plots), and only offers the D2D and Localization
perspectives. 64-bit is the full client with all perspectives.

The second link above is from a new AWIPS User Manual that was recently
published, with more comprehensive documentation (though it's still a work in
progress).

I will be updating the Linux repo from 15.1.3 to 16.1.4 this week. It should
be noted that 16.1.4 clients require a 16.1.4 server to work properly, but
other old/new configurations will be fine:

15.1 client -> 15.1 server = OK
15.1 client -> 16.1 server = OK
16.1 client -> 16.1 server = OK
16.1 client -> 15.1 server = NOT OK

As always, please send support requests to
