Equipment Award Status Report

Once again this year we have set aside 100K to fund community equipment awards.  This includes UCAR overhead on outgoing subcontracts.  We received eight proposals totaling approximately 186K including UCAR overhead or, 142K direct.

 

This compares to twenty four proposals received in 2005 for approximately 430K.  The panel’s job will certainly be easier this year!

 

One change that we made this year was encourage proposals that represent community broadening in the disciplinary sense.  It appears that we received 3 or possibly four proposals that have this potential.  The others appear to be from traditional sources, and we welcome those as well. 

 

The panel will meet for 1 – 1.5 days 4/11 and 12.
