Millersville University is pleased to sponsor and host a Unidata Regional Workshop on October 21-22, 2013. The purpose of this workshop is to provide introductory and advanced training in the use of Unidata's Integrated Data Viewer (IDV). The workshop will also include a presentation and hands-on session showcasing the GEOScience Probe of Discovery (GEOPOD), a National Science Foundation funded project that leverages Unidata's IDV to create an interactive 3-D learning environment where students can navigate a virtual probe through real geophysical data and actuate devices to explore and discover the atmosphere

The Unidata Program Center is pleased to announce its 2013 Software Training Workshop. The workshop features our display and analysis packages GEMPAK (with an introduction to AWIPS-II) and the IDV, data access and management tools, the Local Data Manager (LDM), the Network Common Data Form (netCDF), and the THREDDS Data Server (TDS).
The workshop will be held July 23 - August 8, 2013. Individual courses last from one to four days.
Google Earth Outreach is offering two workshops geared toward higher education institutions, focusing on tools that are useful for undergrad and grad-level teaching, coursework, and research in GIS and remote sensing. The workshops are intended for mapping and technology specialists looking to "collect, host, analyze, visualize, and publish map data using the power of the cloud."
The Department of Meteorology and Climate Science at San José State University will sponsor a Unidata Regional Workshop March 14-15, 2013. The workshop will focus on how large datasets are accessed, organized, and interpreted under the use of free-and-open sharing of Earth System data.
