[LDM #BSF-129906]: ldmd.conf question

Tiffany,

Would you please send us the output from the following commands:

    uname -a
    hostname
    ip a
    ping dontpanic.nssl.noaa.gov

Our system administrator had this to say:

    One thing that doesn't look correct to me is the output of /etc/hosts,
presumably for this system;

    10.199.102.202 localhost.srp.gov localhost srphyldm01.srp.gov srphyldm01

    I'd say the "localhost" entries in the line above go on the 127.0.0.1 line
such that;

    127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.localdomain localhost4
localhost4.localdomain4 localhost.srp.gov
    10.199.102.202 srphyldm01.srp.gov srphyldm01

    I've seen issues when localhost is not defined correctly. Since there are
multiple "localhost" entries, I believe
    the end result will be "10.199.102.202 = localhost" which is not correct

Regards,
Steve Emmerson
