The Unidata Program Center has spiffy new lodgings.
Update: Our move to the new building is (more or less) complete. Come by and visit us in our snazzy (if temporary) new building.
It's only temporary, and it's only across the street, but the Program Center offices (along with the offices of most of the programs that make up the UCAR Community Programs — UCP) will be moving to new digs during the week of August 8, 2011. As a result, we may be slow to respond to phone calls and e-mail support questions during the transition. If all goes according to plan, we'll be in the new space beginning on Monday, August 15th.
In 2009, UCAR purchased the building at 3375 Mitchell Lane, in Boulder, Colorado. Just across the street from the UCP's current building at 3300 Mitchell Lane, the new facility has been named the Anthes building in honor of UCAR president Richard A. Anthes, who will be stepping down in December 2011. The Anthes building has been completely renovated to improve energy efficiency and to add a Ground Source Heat Pump system.
Unidata and the other UCP program offices will occupy the Anthes building while our current building (Foothills Laboratory 4) is retrofitted to provide similar energy efficiency and workspace upgrades. After the FL4 retrofit is complete sometime in the Spring of 2012, the UCP programs will move back in, and NCAR's Research Applications Laboratory (RAL) will move into the Anthes building.
Unless you're physically coming to visit us, contact information for the Unidata Program Center (including our mailing address) remains unchanged.
