ESIP: Student Fellowships

ESIP

The Federation of Earth Science Information Partners (ESIP) is an open networked community that brings together science, data and information technology practitioners around Earth science issues.

ESIP is currently accepting applications for the 2016 ESIP Student Fellows. ESIP Student Fellows are a group of graduate students that are interested interested in working in cross-discipline activities that further the development of Earth science technologies that improve the flow of data bridging the gap between informatics and Earth Science and applying research to real-world problems. This fellowship provides students a chance to work closely with professionals in an interdisciplinary, cross-sector group on current Earth Science problems. The students become engaged in the group as rapporteurs, documenting the work of the group on the monthly telecons and at the semi-annual meetings (Summer/Winter). As the student become more familiar with the group activities he or she may chose to tie in his/her own research to the group activities. Student Fellows will receive a stipend of $2000 plus travel expenses to two ESIP meetings.

Applications are due October 9. For the full details see the ESIP Student Fellowship website.
