[THREDDS #GHM-262217]: Archived GFS forecasts

Greetings!

Thanks for the kind words.

Unidata is funded by the National Science Foundation to help make data
available, but we do not have the resources to be a full archive center. Thus,
we only are able to keep and host ~30 days' worth of data.

For a more extensive archive of data, you want to look at the National Center
for Environmental Information (NCEI):

  https://www.ncei.noaa.gov
  https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/products/weather-climate-models/global-forecast

They maintain longer term archives of GFS, both in the cloud and available from
a THREDDS server:

  https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/thredds/catalog/model-gfs-004-files/catalog.html
  https://registry.opendata.aws/noaa-gfs-bdp-pds/

Hope this helps!

Ryan
