Re: thredds catalog generator

Hi David,

Sorry for the delayed response. I've been out sick for a few days. Rather than sending THREDDS questions directly to me, it would be better to send them directly to address@hidden Those emails will get routed to whichever one of us is available at the time.

Does your eta file have multiple forecasts in the same file? If so, I'm surprised they aren't being listed in the IDV.

Currently, the IDV doesn't use the THREDDS catalog time information to determine the "Times" available. It is showing only what is available in the single dataset that was selected.

I'm not sure I'm understanding correctly. Let me know if this makes sense.

Hi Ethan, I'm out in the UAE trying to get an IDV display
running with some radar data. I've got a bunch of netcdf
data generated, and I can look at individual files,
but am having a bit of a time trying to get IDV to recognize
multiple time periods in my catalog. So far, I've just
been modifying the sample catalog, but even, for example, I can't
get the supplied "eta" catalog to recognize multiple times.
I'm looking at the 2005050x_eta_211.nc, which produces an latest.xml element
and has addTimeCoverage element,
startTimeSubstitutionPattern="$1-$2-$3T$4:00:00" duration="60 hours" />

When I add this data source, only one "Times" element will show, and
there is no ability to animate.
Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong would be appreciated.
I attached a screen shot hoping that will make this more clear.
Thanks for your help, David
(i'm running the 2.0RC3)
