Whoever built the netcdf-c library apparently did so with the option --disable-netcdf-4 so that it did not include netcdf-4 support. You will need to rebuild that library with --enable-netcdf-4 so that netcdf-4 support is available. Note that this will also require installing hdf5. > Sir, I am trying to *./configure* ncview program which requires netcdf-4* > libraries which are already intalled therein. > > > It gives me error as : > > *./configure --with-udunits2_incdir=$HOME/software/include > --with-udunits2_libdir=$HOME/software/lib --prefix=$HOME/software* > *checking for nc-config... yes* > *Netcdf library version: netCDF 4.1.3* > *Netcdf library has version 4 interface present: no* > *Netcdf library was compiled with C compiler: gcc* > *-------------------------------------------------------------------* > *ncview version 2.0 REQUIRES the netcdf library be version 4 or above,* > *AND installed with HDF-5 support (i.e., the netcdf library must be* > *compiled with the --enable-netcdf-4 flag).
