Hello, It appears that you may need to specify LD_LIBRARY_PATH when running make check (or,alternatively, add it to your .bashrc) as follows: $ LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/path/to/netcdf/dir make check Let me know if this works; if it doesn't, can you please provide the config.log file generated when you configure netcdf-fortran?
