I've tried this on our Linux Fedora system with HDF5-1.8.9 and netCDF-4.2
installed, and all the tests pass, including the one above that fails
on bluefire. The original developer of netcdf-cxx4 also can't duplicate
the problem, and has no access to bluefire.
It's possible that if I had access to a system equivalent to bluefire on
which the failure occurred, I could debug it, assuming you have g++ and a
working version of gdb.
Does the error also occur on one of the mirage hosts I'm familiar with, and
if so, could you tell me where netCDF-4.2 and HDF5-1.8.9 are installed, so
I could build netcdf-cxx4 for debugging?
If it only occurs on bluefire, could you provide me with the information
necessary to build it for debugging (I think I would need to use g++
flags '-g3 -O0 -fno-inline' or something equivalent).
I haven't done much with C++ lately, so debugging this problem may take a
while ...
