Hi Carol, re: > Yes, the word interleave is not very clear to me as you're saying. As I > said, I assumed that GOES-18 data was going to be mixed with GOES-17 data > and output as GOES-17 data. Anyways, I think we have it all sorted out now > at least here within EOL. Very good. Just so you know, we maintain a 30 day "rolling archive" of all satellite image products on our data servers, so you could grab the GOES-18 imagery that you did not save if needed. re: > Thanks for sharing the details for the servers. Not sure I understand all > of that, but I don't think I need to :) The short and sweet of the can be boiled down to: - switch to using the EAST, EASTALL, WEST, WESTALL ADDE groups when wanting to look at/use GOES-East and GOES-West imagery - be aware that the long existing datasets RTGOESR, GOESRALL, RTGOESS, and GOESALL will only contain GOES-16 and GOES-17 imagery, respectively Also, RTGOEST and GOESTALL were created to only contain GOES-18 imagery. I think you understand the comment about how McIDAS-X caches the IP address of an ADDE server in a local disk file, and this works great as long as the IP address of the server does not change. Our intention of floating our adde.ucar.edu service to different machines runs into a problem because of this caching, however, so users needed to be informed of why something may stop working for them. re: > Enjoy your long weekend!
