[McIDAS #CYB-444461]: McIDAS-X installation on Ubuntu 16.04

Hi Muhammad,

Neither of your emails had the McIDAS make log file
(~mcidas/mcidas2016/src/makelog)
attached.

Can you send me:

- the make log file

- the output of 'env'

I want to see if the McIDAS build environment is setup as per the instructions
in the Unidata McIDAS-X User's guide

Comment:

- the most common cause for the Unidata McIDAS-X build failing has been
due to not setting up the 'mcidas' environment before attempting the
  build

The second most common cause is the lack of a system package needed
  by the build environment.

Just so you know, I routinely build Unidata McIDAS-X with no problems on
my Ubuntu 14.04 LTS machine here at home, and some Unidata community
members routinely build under Ubuntu 16.04.

Cheers,

Tom
