There is no way that I know of to convert any netCDF field into a McIDAS AREA in McIDAS-X. Converting imagery in AREA format to netCDF, however, is supported. re: > The data set I am looking to convert is for sea ice thickness. > > https://icdc.zmaw.de/thredds/catalog/ftpthredds/smos_sea_ice_thickness/catalog.html?dataset=ftpthreddsscan/smos_sea_ice_thickness/SMOS_Icethickness_v2.1_north_20160416.nc > > On McIDAS-V, it said the source was Grid Files (netcdf), the Field > Selector is "SMOS sea ice thicknessâ and the plan view is > âColor-Filled Contour Plan View.â The total grid size is > x=608 and y=896. The data appears to be in meters. OK. re: > If you have any suggestions or may be able to assist in helping me put > this together, please let me know. Are you really looking to convert the netCDF to an AREA, or are you wanting to display the field in the netCDF file as an image in McIDAS-X? There are no facilities in McIDAS-X for doing the former, but there is a way to do the latter.
