The workshop went OK, thanks.  And, after I was able to leave the office on
Friday (workshop, AMS abstract creation/submission/etc.), it was nice.  We
went to Fraser/Winter Park to join Tammy and Mike for some R&R.  Three days
of relaxation and fun.

The HRS datasetream contents are substantial, but not huge.  What you are 
probably
thinking about is the amount of disk space needed to decode the model data into
McIDAS GRID format.  What I propose to do is install the McIDAS XCD GRIB filer,
not the XCD GRID decoder.  The disk space used is _much_ less, and the access
to the data is _much_ quicker.

In order to setup XCD GRIB filing, I need for all of the MySQL stuff to be 
installed
on your machine:

mysql-client
mysql-server
mysql-devel

I found the mysql-client stuff, but not the server or development environments. 
 I
have been doing some web searching and see that I need the RedHat Network login
information to be able to access the appropriate MySQL distributions for your
machine (which is running RedHat Enterprise WS 4).  Can you give me the user 
name
and login for the RHN so I can get the needed packages?  If not, please get hold
of a system administrator and ask him/her to install all of the following:

mysql-4.1.20-2.RHEL4.1.i386.rpm
mysql-4.1.20-2.RHEL4.1.x86_64.rpm

The first two are installed, but the development and server stuff is not.

Yes,.

You have a choice of the NEXRAD Level III products for some/all of the 160 or
so NEXRADs, and/or the FNEXRAD NEXRAD Level III composites that we create.
McIDAS does not support use of the full volume scan data in the NEXRAD2 feed.

You can, of course do this.  You may want to ingest some of the data locally
and serve it yourself so you get the best performance.  Again, it is not
hard to stop getting/processing data later if you decide you don't want/need
to do it.

The easiest thing to do would be to setup the LDM on livos to ingest, process,
and relay the data.

No worries.  The thing I need now is MySQL.  After that, the installation should
go very quickly.  FYI, I just setup Clint's machine yesterday afternoon to 
process
all data that was possible to process for McIDAS.  I also setup his ADDE remote
server since he will be opening the machine for general use.

Please send the RHN (RedHat Network) information so I can get MySQL installed.
After that, everything will go quickly.
