Mike,

I should have checked this before sending ou the previous email.
The McIDAS ADDE server is no longer available on cyclone. The reason
for this is that the appropriate entries in /etc/inetd.conf are missing.
This is a mystery since the timestamp on /etc/inetd.conf is old:

% ls -alLt /etc/inetd.conf
-r--r--r--   1 root     sys         5092 Dec 10  2002 /etc/inetd.conf

This prohibits any machine, including cyclone, from accessing data
through the remote server. The fix is to reinstall the McIDAS ADDE
remote server

<as 'root'>

cd ~mcidas
sh ./mcinet2002.sh install mcadde
