The Antarctic Meteorological Research Center (AMRC) at the University of
Wisconsin-Madison's Space Science and Engineering Center wishes to
announce the availability of an improved Antarctic Station Database
for McIDAS.  

The database includes correct listings of the University of Wisconsin-Madison's
Automatic Weather Stations (AWS) and the United States Antarctic Program's 
Automated Geophysical Observatory (AGO) stations.  This database file
also includes the "deletions" for the incorrect/outdated listings for the
UW AWS that are in the current core station data base. 

You can find this file at:

http://uwamrc.ssec.wisc.edu/amrc/STNDB.USER

This file is not currently incorropated into the AMRC web site, but will
as the site is reconstructed in coming weeks/months.

This user station database file is for use with McIDAS-X's STNLIST and 
STNPLOT commands.

We plan/hope to update this file as changes are made in upcoming field
seasons.

An error has been discovered in the improved Antarctic Station
Database.  Elizabeth AWS and Swithinbank AWS were incorrectly listed
in the wrong hemisphere.  The error has been corrected and you can
find the corrected file at the same URL location:

http://uwamrc.ssec.wisc.edu/amrc/STNDB.USER
