I'll bet that you were pointing at psnldm. But, you never know ;-) >HRS.SPL is the same size on both machines: > >wxmcidas: >/usr/local/ldm/data/mcidas% ls -al *.SPL >-rw-rw-r-- 1 ldm staff 33558529 Apr 28 01:38 HRS.SPL > >psnldm: >/usr/local/ldm/data/mcidas% ls -al *.SPL >-rw-rw-r-- 1 ldm staff 33558529 Apr 28 01:38 HRS.SPL OK. I just wanted to make sure. >I was able to get a chart from wxmcidas 30-48 hours. psnldm does >not seem slower than wxmcidas, it has a 440Mhz UltraSparc (upgraded it). The login information gave me the clue that I needed. The problem comes, once again, back to me (sigh!). You had previously asked me if you could do the "install the entire addendum" without doing anything in the addendum update pieces, and I said yes. Well, I was wrong!!! The one step that you had to do that was detailed in the pieces was: touch Mcmkmcgrid.c Since the last crutial step was left out, Mcmkmcgrid.c was never recompiled, and it needs to be since it includes grid.h, and grid.h was updated. I did the following on psnldm: cd ~/workdata decinfo.k SET DMGRID INACTIVE <waited until DMGRID exited> cd ~mcidas/mcidas7.6/src touch Mcmkmcgrid.c make xcd rm ~mcidas/bin/dmgrid.k ln dmgrid.k ~mcidas/bin (Actually, on systems using native compilers, the result of a remake should leave the link between the new executable and the one installed in ~mcidas/bin in tact. Checking this with an: ls -lt dmgrid.k ~mcidas/bin/dmgrid.k is _always_ a good idea. I include instructions for deleting the copy of an executable in the ~mcidas/bin directory and then recreating the link from the new copy in ~mcidas/mcidas7.6/src to ~mcidas/bin for those sites using gcc/f2c/mcfc. For them the delete and relink is a must). cd ~/workdata decinfo.k SET DMGRID ACTIVE So, a new version of DMGRID is now running on psnldm, and I am betting that your 0 and 12 Z AVN runs will be complete tomorrow. By the way, it appears that the copy of RTMODELS.CFG that you were using was very different from the one that is being used now. This would account for the strange intermixing of AVN and ETA GRID files in the 5600 range. Did the addenda wipe out your RTMODELS.CFG? igu.k LIST 5000 6000 GRIDFILE PROJ CREATED MAXGRD IDENT -------- ---- ------- ------ ---------------- 5008 0 2000118 5000 Misc. Sorry for leaving out the crutial step of touching Mcmkmcgrid.c! >Thanks, Robert Tom
