The current release of McIDAS-X has an ADDE server that allows one to
IMGCOPY images in datasets of AREA images to datasets composed of
images in netCDF.  If you have McIDAS-X Version 7.6, you should check
out the ncdfadir.c and ncdfaput.c routines.

As far as converting to GINI images, I can't help you out there.  I
did, however, just write ADDE "get" and "dir" servers that allows
one to access GINI images from within McIDAS.  I did not, however,
write the GINI ouput (i.e., "put") server.
