[LDM #ISX-930596]: LDM slow writing to disk



Tony,

I agree with everything that Tom wrote but would like to clarify the possible 
benefits of multiple pqact(1) processes. The more CPUs/cores you have, the 
greater the potential benefit up to the point where they begin to compete for 
resources (CPUs, I/O, etc.). The only way to tell is to try.

One question: when "writing to disk" are you using pqact(1)'s FILE action or 
are you using its PIPE action and it's the decoder that's writing to disk?
