[LDM #ICO-204104]: Filing products with non-unique ldm metadata

Robert,

The product-identifier of an LDM data-product is supposed to uniquely identify
the
product. Are you saying this is *not* the case for the products in question? If
so, what kind of products are they and where do they come from?

I can't decode the "XOUS5." T1T2A1A2ii identifier using the WMO 386 tables at
<http://www.nws.noaa.gov/tg/headef.php>.

Can you work with the data-product provider to fix the product-identifier?

String-substitution in the output file name based on the creation-time of a
data-product uses the function strftime(3). That function doesn't
do fractional seconds. Adding that ability would require modifying the code.

Theoretically, one could PIPE data-products to a script using the "-close"
option that would create a unique time-based output file name for the data-
product. I'm not sure, however, that that solution could keep-up with multiple
arrivals per second. It would depend on the actual rate and the speed of the
computer.

I hope this helps.
