[LDM #BXQ-199970]: Re: LDM access to data feeds

Hi James,

I just figured out why we are not honoring horus.atmos.ucla.edu feed REQUEST(s),
we can not do a reverse DNS lookup (IP -> name) for your machine:

~: nslookup horus.atmosl.ucla.edu
Server: 208.67.222.222
Address: 208.67.222.222#53

** server can't find horus.atmosl.ucla.edu: NXDOMAIN

~: nslookup horus.atmos.ucla.edu
Server: 208.67.222.222
Address: 208.67.222.222#53

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: horus.atmos.ucla.edu
Address: 169.232.145.76

~: nslookup 169.232.145.76
;; Got SERVFAIL reply from 208.67.222.222, trying next server
;; Got SERVFAIL reply from 208.67.222.220, trying next server
;; Got SERVFAIL reply from 208.67.222.222, trying next server
;; Got SERVFAIL reply from 208.67.222.220, trying next server
Server: 127.0.0.1
Address: 127.0.0.1#53

** server can't find 76.145.232.169.in-addr.arpa: SERVFAIL

As you can see from the 'nslookup' output, forward DNS (name -> IP)
is working, but reverse (IP -> name) is not.

Can you check with your (campus?) network folks and ask if there
is some sort of DNS issue?

Cheers,

Tom
