[LDM #HXE-144514]: log file error questions



Carol,

Tabs are relevant only in pqact(1) configuration-files. They make no difference 
in the LDM configuration-file, $LDMHOME/etc/ldmd.conf.

An ALLOW host-ID pattern that matches IP addresses should only be used if the 
hostname can't be resolved, e.g., if the command "dig host.domain" fails.

You can use notifyme(1) to quickly test whether one LDM can connect to another:

    notifyme -vl- -h host.domain

You can use telnet(1) to test whether one host can connect to another using the 
LDM port, 388:

    telnet host.domain 388
