[LDM #ARJ-356121]: Question about old LDMs talking to new LDMs

Ryan,

The LDM is designed with backward-compatibility as a requirement. If you look
at the rtstats(1) webpage
<https://www.unidata.ucar.edu/cgi-bin/rtstats/siteindex>, you'll see that old
and new versions of the LDM work interoperably.

Newer versions of the LDM are likely to use fewer system resources, however,
because they disallow certain inefficient configurations (like making
overlapping data requests).

If you ever do encounter an interoperability problem, please notify
address@hidden immediately.

> Are there any known issues (or inefficiencies) with older versions of LDM
> (in this case 6.7.1) talking to new versions (6.11.6)?

Regards,
Steve Emmerson
