[LDM #YZT-839453]: Problem installing ldm software

If you want the LDM system to identify itself to the system
logging daemin as anything other than "local0", then you
should use an option argument like "local6" instead of 
"local/n".

The compilation line above should not have contained the
arguments "-O3", "-DNDEBUG", or "-lrpcsoc".  When you executed
the "configure" script, what were the values of the environment
variables CPPFLAGS, CFLAGS, LDFLAGS, and LIBS?
