[LDM #AET-991057]: LDM 6.4.4: upstream connection closed for unknown reason

OK.  I now know what happened where to cause the connection to close.  I'll 
investigate to see if I can determine why it happened.

In the meantime, please send me the output of the command "uname -a" and tell 
me what C compiler and version you used.

If possible, you might try rebuilding the latest LDM package using a different 
C compiler and/or decreased otimization level.  It's possible that a fault in 
the compiler is causing a socket-related structure to be overwritten (I know 
this sounds improbable, but it's happened before).  In rebuilding the same 
package, you'll need to stop the LDM before executing the "make install" 
command; otherwise, the LDM might crash.
