'ldmadmin watch' first determines if there is an LDM running by:

- reading the ldmd.pid file in $LDMHOME

- sends a 'kill -0' signal to the process id read from ldmd.pid

You should be able to run 'ldmadmin watch' _if_ you define LDMHOME
in your login session.

I just tried running 'ldmadmin watch' from the 'mcidas' account on
weather3, and it works fine _because_ LDMHOME was defined.

Cheers,

Tom
