In your case, the $ldmhome variable in the ldmadmin(1)
configuration-file, "$HOME/etc/ldmadmin-pl.conf", should be set to
"/home/ldm".

The LDMHOME environment variable would normally be set in the
profile-file for the user-shell of the LDM user.  If, however, the home
directory of the LDM installation is the same as the home directory of
the LDM user (the usual case) then this environment variable needn't be
set.
