That's right.  We setup the "runtime" structure to facilitate upgrades (and
the occasional reversion :-).

Step-by-step upgrade instructions can be found in the version-specific
"LDM Basics" webpages.  For example, for version 6.3.0, see

You'll have to modify the LDM configuration-file, ldmd.conf, in order to
remove the pqexpire(1) and pqbinstats(1) EXEC entries -- so it's not
quite true that you never have to modify the configuration-files.
