The pax(1) utility is the Standard Unix replacement for both the tar(1)
and cpio(1) utilities -- which are now deprecated. pax(1) understands
both tar(1) and cpio(1) file-formats.  Because we need to get used to
using pax(1), I decided to start using it for the documentation.
