As far as I can tell, your "make" command built all the components even
though it did complain about 'Duplicate type qualifier "volatile"' and
disallowed assignments.

Did you try to execute the command "make install"?  If so, what happened?

We don't get these "errors" on our AIX 4.3 system. What's the output of
the command "uname -a" on your system?
