Thank you for your comments.  Indeed, I've been casting about for any
solution, including band-aids, to this problem short of major changes to
the LDM.  (We're trying to develop the next major version of the LDM,
and are thus trying to minimize significant changes to the current
version.)  I'm glad to know how you've addressed it.  Unfortunately, yet
another disconnection (due to a restart), will add to the high overhead
he's already experiencing with his frequent disconnects, but that may be
the best alternative at this point.

But, how did you come to send this message to me today?  And, is it in
any way related to my original message of 2/8/2002 showing up in my
mailbox just now with a 2/8/2002 timestamp???
