[IDV #OSB-654812]: IDV script quit working with after kernel install

Thanks for the clarification. On a side note, Ward Fisher have been working to
port the IDV to the cloud using docker technology and xvfb is a key component of
that work. See:

I'd encourage you to poke around those repositories and especially the
Dockerfiles and shell scripts (they are easy to read even if you have no
previous experience with Docker).  These resources will give you hints and
insights into how to use xvfb to run the IDV.
