[IDV #NNR-630827]: IDV seems to hang while loading defaults



Greetings!

Yes, this is a Java issue. In order to run the IDV, you need to use Java 1.6. 
You are currently
using Java 1.7. Unfortunately, Java3D does not run on Java 1.7 for the Mac yet, 
so we are
stuck in 1.6 land until things get fixed on the Java3D project. We are hopeful 
that by the
next release of Java (due in August), things will be resolved. At that point, 
we can ship a
JRE with the IDV, and none of the incompatibilities with the system's version 
of Java will 
matter.
