Hi Gilles,
There are a few place/ways to get topographic maps. One place you could try is
the
background images. From either the Dashboard or Main View Window, use the Data
menu and choose from the entries in Data -> Background images (for example,
Bathymetry/Topography - Static).
Also, you can check out the following catalog for some more potential resources:
http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/georesources/idvcatalog.xml (Look under "Topography/
Bathymetry").
