[IDV #QGA-385408]: Related to color shaded plan view.

The range of the data for the color table is determined either from a parameter 
default, the color table, or the range of the data.  The exception is the Image 
Display which is a specialized color shaded plan view which scales the color 
range to 0-255 if the values fall in that range.  So, if you are getting 0-255 
every time you load in your data and the range of the values is outside that, 
then I suspect that you have a parameter default that is set to be 0-255.

The Color shaded parameter as topography control allows you to scale any 
parameter (e.g. temperature) to the vertical axis.  The topography control only 
works for topography data with units convertible with meter or geopotential 
meter.
