[IDV #JHM-641809]: wind barbs and text point data

Hi David and Yuan,
For the record, I tried the trivial example of loading 2 data points and did
not observe the problem. As soon, as I go beyond that (e.g. 10 points) I see
the problem again.
I will continue sleuthing.
