[IDV #CGO-734297]: Directory Data load error

That is inconsistent, isn't it.  In reality, when you change to
a new field, all should revert to the data source's default like
time does.  To subset any of these globally for a dataset, you 
should use the Data Source properties (right click on the Data Source
and select Properties, or double click on the data source).  Setting
the region, stride and times from the properties should apply to
all fields.  The Data Subset panel allows you to override the default
on a per field basis.
