[IDD #OUN-544568]: radar composite base reflectivity is old

Hi Bill,

I drove your inquiry into the IDD department as the reason for the
disappearance of the product you are most likely referring to is outside
of the IDV.

Last Wednesday, May 5, at approx. 15 UTC the NWS discontinued three
"low resolution" radar products: N0R, N0V and N0Z. The impact of this
was our inability to create the U.S. national N0R composite both in its
GINI and GRIB2 formats.

The cessation of creation of the national N0R composite product was
announced to the address@hidden email list last Friday.
In our announcement we recommended that users switch to use of the higher
resolution national DHR composite since the underlying Level 3 DHR product
was and still is the one that the NWS creates for their forecast offices.

Cheers,

Tom
