[IDD #DPT-600099]: Request change of IDD ingest computer

I just verified that forward and reverse DNS exists for your new
machine, so you should be good to go.

Yes for all feeds listed below _except_ NLDN.  Please keep the
overlap period as short as possible.

Go ahead and test your new machine when you are ready.

By the way, a good way to verify that you are ALLOWed to request
data from an upstream is to use the LDM 'notifyme' utility.  Here
is an example 'notifyme' invocation for this kind of use:

<as 'ldm' on your new machine>
notifyme -vl- -f WMO -h idd.cise-nsf.gov

If this 'notifyme' invocation works (shows that you are ALLOWed)
then so will a REQUEST.

idd.cise-nsf.gov, so you have already made the request by contacting
us.

Depending on the bandwidth into your machine, you could reorganize
your REQUEST lines to be a little more efficient.  For instance,
try the following:

REQUEST UNIDATA|FSL2 ".*" idd.cise-nsf.gov
REQUEST UNIDATA|FSL2 ".*" idd.unidata.ucar.edu
REQUEST NNEXRAD ".*" idd.cise-nsf.gov
REQUEST NNEXRAD ".*" idd.unidata.ucar.edu
REQUEST NLDN ".*" striker2.atmos.albany.edu

This would depend on the data you want to ingest.  I would
suggest REQUESTing the FNEXRAD feed as this contains the
national Nexrad Level III base reflectivity composites; most
sites find this product to be quite useful.

Very good.  For the test period, you could request the NLDN feed
from the old machine on your new machine.  When things look like
they are working fully, you should contact SUNYA (David Knight)
to request that your new machine be ALLOWed to request the NLDN
data.

The GEMPAK and McIDAS distributions contain relevant/useful
pqact.conf files.  Since you are a long time GEMPAK user, I would
guess that the ones for GEMPAK are appropriate.

Yes, all of these data are available.  Whether or not you can
ingest all of them in addition to what you are currently getting
depends on the bandwidth into your site.  For reference, here
are the relevant feeds:

NEXRAD2 - Nexrad Level II
GEM     - GEM model output from the CMC
NGRID   - high resolution model output contained in NOAAPort (has the SREF
          data)
