Robb,

My connection to cirrus is back.  Apparently there was a major "attack" on
the campus internet connection (whatever that means) on 12 Jan.  As a
result the sysadmin folks blocked all incoming data, including mine to
cirrus.  As of this morning it has been restored and my data are flowing
normally.
