[GEMPAK #YLS-987819]: JOSS Precip Quality Control Format data

Sherrie,

The simplest way to import ascii data into a GEMPAK surface file
is through SFEDIT.

You will need to reformat your data into the fomat that SFLIST
outputs, and create a station table if your surface locations are fixed-
or create a ship format file if they are not.

There is an example in the tutorial on importing research data:
http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/gempak/tutorial/importingdata.html

You may want to check with one of the JOSS people first however, since they
may have already developed a way to import the data.
