Bob,

No, the SF and SN programs do not have the rich set of functions
that can be acomplished through gridding the data with OABSND &
OABSFC and doing the computations in the GD programs. 

It would be possible to write routines as the STNDEX to
support some additional common parameters. Do you 
have a list that you would be interested in?
